The General Studies and Entrepreneurship Development Unit coordinates foundational instruction across all faculties and degree disciplines. Designed in strict alignment with National Universities Commission (NUC) Core Curriculum and Minimum Academic Standards (CCMAS), these compulsory courses ensure that graduates combine academic excellence with self-reliance, ethical leadership, and health awareness.

01 Compulsory Graduation Requirement

Mandatory for All Undergraduate Degrees

Passing all ten (10) compulsory GST courses (20 credit units) is a mandatory requirement for the award of any degree at Owolabi University.
Courses must be registered and passed at the designated level specified in the academic handbook.

02 Entrepreneurship Skill Defense

Trade Skill & Business Plan Evaluation

Students must acquire practical skills in a selected trade skill area and defend a viable business model canvas.
Satisfactory performance in practical skill defense is required prior to entry into final year studies.

03 Attendance & Continuous Assessment

A minimum of 75% lecture and practical workshop attendance is required to sit for semester examinations.
Continuous assessments account for 30% of total course marks.
